Tinley Park High School is very proud to announce the Drama Club's production of Anne of Green Gables adapted by Sylvia Ashby. The performance will be directed by Drama Club Sponsors Ms. Melissa Heniff and Mr. Jerry Sanchez.
According to the play’s publisher, Samuel French, “[Sylvia Ashby’s adaptation of Anne of Green Gables is] a refreshing, contemporary telling of the classic story. Stern Marilla and her warm-hearted brother Mathew hoped to adopt a boy to work on their farm. But the orphanage sends young, befreckled Anne by mistake, and their lives will never be the same. Her warmth and wit affect everyone around her - even, eventually, the cold Marilla. We follow Anne through her rebellious years, her transformation into a young woman, and her romantic pairing with Gilbert.”
Cast member include Shannon Drabek as Anne Shirley, Karina O’Harrow as Marilla Cuthbert, Samuel Cascone as Mathew Cuthbert, Myia McGahee as Rachel Lynde with Anastasia Koutsis as her understudy, Mahliyah Chelikas as the Station Master, Jovita Johnson as Mr. Spencer, Emily Kowalski as Mrs. Blewitt, Kaelyn Ward as Diana Barry, Mera Shafie as Mrs. Barry, Alisha O’Harrow as Mr. Phillips, Shannon Davis as Miss Stacy, Meghan Cahill as Ruby Gillis, Natalie Cuadrado as Josie Pye, Genesis (April) Aranda as Moody MacPherson and Mark Ogarek as Gilbert Blythe.
